Sun Desktop Bundle available.  Magelan and HDFR more affordable.

Williamsburg, VA.  Nov. 18, 2004

INCOGEN has announced a major Desktop Software Initiative to build on the November release of Version 3.0 of the award-winning and industry-leading Visual Integrated Bioinformatics Environment: VIBE.

Earlier this month INCOGEN announced Version 3.0 of VIBE that positions VIBE as a new Desktop Solution. As a stand-alone software package it will fit most individual researchers’ budgets.

VIBE for the desktop is an affordable, yet powerful tool that combines all the features and algorithms available on the client-server version and delivers them as a single-user desktop package. VIBE for the Desktop can rapidly bring Data Pipelining to individual users worldwide with pricing below $5,000. With Sun Microsystems, INCOGEN offers an attractive hardware/software system running Linux starting at $6,495.

“The Desktop Initiative is a logical expansion of our business, said Don Van Dyke INCOGEN‘s VP of Business Development. He continued, “INCOGEN is well-known for our custom solutions that are the mainstay of our business. We have also made great progress with the client-server implementation of VIBE. Going straight to the desktop user will enhance all of our business units.”

Now INCOGEN has added its Multiple Analysis Gel Analyzer, Magelan, and High Density Filter Reader, HDFR to the program. Both products are now priced at a budget-friendly $995 for a perpetual license.

“Between HDFR and Magelan you cover the majority of desktop imaging needs in Molecular Biology,” said Van Dyke, “The time has come for truly affordable products in that space that are powerful and easy to use."
